Joanna Party & Bella Sarris

PerformanceSaturday 27.05.

Bella Sarris adds to Stockholm’s club culture in more ways than one. She’s a booker and co-founder of queer lesbian party LLIPS, pop up natural wine bar SPILLS, and a frequent DJ of Stockholm’s underground parties. She fuels these parties with raw stripped down grooves and what she likes to call her favorite style of wine, ‘party juice’.

The foundations of her unique brand were laid during the years she lived and danced in Berlin, her base while she toured heavily as a DJ. 90’s tech house, minimal techno and hard house are her flavors of the moment, sometimes dipping into a progressive or trancey moment of euphoria.

JOANNA PARTY aka Joanna Nordahl is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for telling emotional stories, whether through film, onstage or on the dance floor. Dance music came into her life early and shapes how she creates everything. Recent projects include directing music videos for Four Tet, and projects featuring the sounds of Roger Sanchez and Caribou. She’s won DJ mag’s director of the year as well as a Swedish Grammy. Nordahl frequently travels the world and spent seven years living in London - which heavily influenced her taste in music and DJ style. She mixes choppy UK breaks and heavy bassline with an eclectic mix of other genres like Brazilian funk and amapiano, resulting in a sweaty and energetic dance floor.

Although Joanna and Bella come from different sonic landscapes, each has a foot firmly planted in bass heavy dance music. Their B2B set at SCOPES will be the first time we witness their unique hybrid sound. Two worlds will collide in a bass driven percussive journey through tech house, uk breaks, punchy rhythms and sexy edits of their favorite nostalgia.
