Stella Explorer’s musical landscape is a mixture between ambient pop and dark rhythms that forms a loosely composed landscape with a clear common thread. Searching for a melody in everything, Stella has explored over the last years. Several of her influences come from her upbringing in a musical home. She’s a descendant from a long line of musicians, stretching from the underground concert halls of apartheid South Africa.
Stella Explorer draws from her lineage, infusing her twilight torch songs with rhythms and arrangements indebted to the jazz music played in former shirt factories and on the airwaves of Radio Freedom. Her new single “Club Atlantis” is a taste of her upcoming EP “Lost Kingdom” to be released May 5th, 2023.
The wind blows her disclosed leaves, she fights it at night, May her roots hold ground as she kills it before it dies.
